"Thank you for your kindness and comfort"

I was transferred from St John's Hospital, Livingston A&E to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh where I had my gallbladder removed by keyhole surgery by Mr B Tulloh in February 2017.

I would like to pass on my thanks to all the wonderful staff in the Surgical Observation Unit where I was initially admitted. They took exceptional care of me under Nurse Crichton-Macnamara.

The staff on Ward 106 Base B were absolutely wonderful and the care and attention they gave me was amazing, Thank you so much for taking away my pain, monitoring me so well, answering my buzzer when my pain got worse, making me feel less nervous and for making me feel so comfortable and safe. I would also like to thank all the staff who looked after me to take me for my operation. You really don't know how much you helped.

I was so scared inside and you chatted and made me laugh, distracting me whilst doing your job. The lovely person who was there when I came round - I'm sorry I don't know your name but it was a comfort having you there.

Finally, but not least, to the wonderful consultant/surgeon who did such a good job and took my pain away. You have no idea how thankful I am. Thank you to you and to the Nurse Practitioner who came round with you to speak to me, you were so kind. I can't believe you apologised that you had to tell me you found something wrong with my Liver. If it wasn't for you I would not know about it. I am very grateful.
