"Without them we would be lost!"

About: Royal Hospital for Children (Glasgow) / Gastroenterology

(as a parent/guardian),

The support from the IBD Nurses has always been first class since day 1. Our 8 year old son was diagnosed with Crohns Disease Dec 2012. He continues to attend The IBD Clinic where Vikki/Lee have been on our journey since day 1. Our sons journey hasn't been smooth at all, there has been highs aswell as lows. But, the exceptional quality of care and knowledge from his nurses is what keeps us positive and grounded. We have the pleasure of having another nurse Lisa to be apart of our sons care.

Vikki/Lee/ Lisa all speak to our son directly at any appointment then they ask us if we have anything to add. This means the world to our son as he feels he is valued and listened too. He feels he is in control of his medical needs and he can speak his mind freely without worrying.

We still have a long road ahead of us but with a team like his IBD Nurses and Consultant Mr R. Russell, we couldn't have wished for a more caring, supportive team who prove to us each time they work hard in getting it right for our son and continue to support not just our son but us a family.

We have never had any issues with getting our son seen when he has been unwell or his symptoms are concerning us. The team are very responsive to their emails or phone calls and we are never left waiting about for advice or help.

We can't thank The IBD Nurses and Consultant R. Russell enough for everything they have done for our son and us a family. Without them we would be lost!

THANK YOU SO MUCH! ! ! !

Dear proudmumtoacrohnswarrior

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your kind feedback regarding the care and support that you and your son have received from Mr Russell and the IBD nursing team. I am sorry to hear that you have all experienced difficult times over recent years in relation to your son's condition. What is great to hear is the difference the team have made and the support you have all experienced as a family throughout that difficult journey. It is particularly nice to hear that your son feels he is treated as an individual and is given time and space to take in information, make choices and discuss his concerns with the team.

Your feedback reflects the commitment and professionalism of our clinical teams and the IBD team are a great example of this.

Our General Manager and Chief Nurse also receive this feedback and will be delighted to share directly with Mr Russell, Vikki, Lee and Lisa

I hope your son is doing well at this time and continues to do so going forward

Best wishes

Pam
