First class IBD team

My son was diagnosed with Crohn's disease at 7 years old ( now nearly 14). We have the most amazing IBD nurses Vikki, Lee and Lisa and I don't know where we'd be without them. They are quick to respond with any worries I have about my son and were always there to reassure us when things got serious when my son needed major surgery 2 years ago. I cannot thank them enough for their continued care and help and even though they have hundreds of kids to care for they are always available for a chat and reassure me when I'm worried about my son. I must also mention Dr Russell who my sons sees at his check ups, easy to chat to and most importantly my son feels very comfortable at his check ups.

We really do have a first class IBD team who are now more like friends to us and we'd like to thank them for their continued support.

Many thanks for taking the time to share your kind words regarding Dr Russell and the IBD nursing team. It is heartening to hear that the care and support you have received over the years has been so valuable and helped you all to cope with what must have been some very distressing times. It is particularly nice to hear that you feel you can easily access the care and support our Clinical Nurse Specialists provide when you most need it. This exemplifies the excellent work that our specialist nursing teams are doing every day and is a great example of the difference it can make to patients and their families.

Our General Manager and Chief Nurse also receive your feedback and will share this with Dr Russell, Vikki, Lee and Lisa. I know they will be delighted to receive it.

I hope your son is currently keeping well and continues to do so
