"Great physio, but can my Deaf mother please receive emails?"

My mum has arthritis so received physio therapy from Bromley healthcare. The gentleman that came was very helpful, caring, clear and patient. He gave clear instructions and my mother found the physio therapy helpful.

The G. P appointment could be improved however, as my mum is deaf she has to lip read and things aren’t always very clear. I had to call the surgery to confirm her referral for physio therapy. What would have been really helpful would be if the surgery could email my mum (who is very happy to be emailed) to confirm what has been discussed in her G. P appointment and what will happen next, this would make things much easier not only for my mum but her family too.

Thank you for your posting and feedback on the Bromley Healthcare physio service.


I agree with you that sometimes, across health, our methods of communication can be improved. I think your GP practice would welcome thsi feedback. Can I suggest you ask them to communicate with your Mother electronically? If you feel unhappy doing this I would happily do this for you if you email me on amanda.mayo@bromleyhealthcare-cic.nhs.uk with your mothers name and her surgery details.

Bromley Healthcare are working to develop alternative means of communication with patients and already utilise emails and texting which improves our information flows and attendance at appointments.
