"Doctors don't ask my opinions"

About: Learning Disability and Autistic Spectrum Disorder Secure (Nottingham) / Wollaton

(as a staff member posting for a patient/service user),

I am on Wollaton and apart from the loud patients, its ok. Most staff are good but I should get a say in my care but the doctors don’t ask my opinions. I do see my family but things vary a lot. I would like to do more and would like to get a job in I. T.

I am happy to hear the ward is ok and you get to see your family which we know is really important in recovery. However, I will speak to wollaton's clinical team and advise that you do not feel Drs ask you your opinion as it is important they understand what you think, feel and how you would like you recovery to progress.

Good luck getting a job in IT in the future, it is great you have a goal and I will also advise the team you would like more activities.
