A few days after my mother was discharged from hospital she started to feel unwell at home. We called the 111 service for guidance. The lady who took the call was excellent, she felt there was a need for us to speak to a doctor and said she would ask one of the medical team to call us back.
A doctor called us back within an hour, he felt paramedics needed to assess my mother and possibly take her to hospital, he advised us that an ambulance would be arriving within 4 hours and apologised for this wait. However, the ambulance arrived within two hours, my mother was indeed taken to Queen Elizabeth hospital where she was kept in A&E overnight and moved to ward 16.
The care and service we received from the 111 team was excellent, from the person who took our call to the paramedics who came to assess my mother they were all friendly and courteous, very caring and kind.
Sadly, my mother passed away a couple of days after being admitted into hospital, she was looked after well, she died naturally.
"Excellent care and service"
