"In same position with hip pain and no answers."

About: Practice Plus

(as the patient),

At first appointment it was all questions about my health. I had been sent with pain in hip after hip replacement of 2 and half years ago. I was asked if I had had a MRI scan and said yes but many years ago for back pain.

I got a few tests given and was told my leg was weak and I should walk with a stick (which they did not even notice I was already using) and the pain was coming from my back ( so wished I never mentioned MRI scan)Then given appointment for physio.

I went to first appointment with four others in a class. Had to hold a bench and told to raise leg to outside and down again. Bench was really to low and I saw how bent forward I was in mirror but carried on in pain. Next sat on bench and weigh put round ankle while I sat and told to raise my leg up and down. I asked what this was doing for my hip as did not find any pain with this action. Was told to build up strength in leg. I carried on but to me it seemed I never got the attention that other got.

When weigh got taken off leg it had marked my trousers with dirt and brushed the dirt off. I was not watched to see if I had done exercises correctly as she was busy going to others in group. Last exercise which I done only repeated once they came up behind me and said " your done"

I watched others put their coats on so I did the same and left.

I cancelled other appointments but I got phone call in afternoon to ask why. I said it cost me taxi fare there and could not do this every week and could do and have done these exercises at home but still have not got reason for pain in hip.

I was told they would put this reason down but I needed to go back to Dr again to get referred for scan for my back.

Every one in class done same exercise what ever was the matter and just felt I did not "fit in" Never asked about other problem I have like with angina.

So now in same position with hip pain and no answers.
