I took my 8week son to Gateford children's cents to complete a 5week baby massage course.
The course was run by Becky Pollard and was very well planned, resourced and enjoyable.
My son often decided he needed feeding mid-session and Becky offered to run through any of the techniques I had missed if necessary.
Each week we were provided with a sheet of the techniques we had learnt that week and it developed each week so we were practising what we had already learnt.
The sessions were well-paced and taught in a relaxed friendly atmosphere. We were told how the massages helped baby and given handy hints on things babies may or may not like, depending on their health and mood, e. g. not applying too much pressure on the tummy of babies who have trapped wind.
I would highly recommend the course to anyone and have suggested to fellow new mums to sign up to do future baby massage courses at the children's centre.
We have also been signposted to future courses that will be next stages in our babies developments.
