"I want to be at home for Christmas"

(as a staff member posting for a patient/service user),

I want to be at home for Christmas. I just want to leave. I want to be able to work, perhaps be a Nail Technician or an Occupational Therapist. Anything really as I think I have a lot of skills. I can't learn these things here.

Hello there and thank you for adding your story to Patient Opinion. I can totally understand that how you would like to be at home for Christmas and I am sure that most patients feel this way at this time of year. Unfortunately we cannot change this at this current time and you may have already been discharged from Frinton PICU as I write this. I do hope that you follow up on your ambition to become a Nail Technician or an Occupational Therapist and although, as you say, you "can't learn these things here" there are many opportunities available to you in the way of therapies on the wards and I would suggest you discuss this with your Care Coordinator or Occupational therapist.
