For many years, I have suffered from OCD and clinical depression and have had different types of therapy to help me cope with these conditions. What changed my life around was taking part in a research and development program led by Mark Hayward called Relation to Voices Therapy. This approach really worked for me in lots of different ways, it has given me confidence and a belief in myself, I now take a greater interest and effort in my appearance and have a greater sense of self-worth.
I no longer see my OCD or depression as conditions to be borne but as experiences that can be shared with and help other people. I feel that I have been able to put something back into the health service after years of taking from it. The whole process has been very uplifting.
Over the years, I have always had excellent help and support from my GP, consultant and CPN, if it had not been for them I would have gone under.
"It changed my life around"
