"Waste of money"

About: Bedfordshire Talking Therapies

(as the patient),

Since the traumatic break up of my marriage in 2011, I have been suffering from anxiety and depression, in recent years I haven't been able to leave the house. In 2012 I went to my GP, I found her to be compassionate and understanding, she recommended a book for me to read, I followed the suggestions in said book, Unfortunately this wasn't enough and I become worse and can't leave the house or make decisions, so earlier this year (2016) I went back to my GP and she past me on to Bedfordshire wellbeing service.

Unfortunately for me the person who Bedfordshire Wellbeing Service allocated to my case, I found made me feel worse. In the person defence I did feel that they were stressed, which could have been why they (I felt) treated me as if I was stupid and at times a child, apparently I was not there to talk but for them to tell me to do things I had been trying to put in practice for the last four years. I tried to explain I had been doing this for the past four years and just couldn't do it, at this point the person's attitude was not good and they told me I was living in the past and I needed to move, something I already new, there is one thing knowing something and another being able to put into in practice but the person didn't seem interested in hearing this, it seemed to me they just wanted to almost bully me into following their instructions, which I fail to see how this attitude can help anyone.  I myself would have found it hard to believe or understand how someone could feel the way I do but surely a professional person should be able to understand and help in a better way than talking down to them.

I feel this service is just waste of money and fail to see how anyone could be helped by it. I hope this is what you need, I have tried to put the circumstances as succinctly as possible.
