"Psychology sessions make the difference - Danbury"

About: St Andrew's Healthcare Essex / Danbury

(as a staff member posting for a patient/service user),

I think the lifestyle on the ward is fairly relaxed and is good. We don’t have to be out of our rooms at a certain time which is the case in other hospitals. Most of the staff treat me with respect and I have made good progress here. Psychology helps me the most. This has helped with tackling my offending behaviour. I have one psychology session every week and this is the main thing that is making the difference for me. I go out cycling and go to the cinema. These things are important. I have to make my life interesting and less dull. This is part of my relapse prevention plan. Being here is working for me and I would recommend this hospital.

I am extremely pleased to hear that you are making great progress, and that you are treated with respect by staff. Thanks for sharing that psychology has been a key thing that has made a difference for you. It is also reassuring to hear that you would recommend St Andrew's as this will help any anxieties that other patients and their families who may need our service may have.

Best wishes
