"Superb staff"

About: Queen Margaret Hospital / Endoscopy

(as the patient),

Both procedures were done on time and everything was explained in great detail with patience and understanding. I was put at my ease by superb staff who were obviously busy but never too busy to answer any questions or just allay my fears.

What could be improved?  The taste of the preparation.

Thanks for taking the time to post your feedback on Patient Opinion. Your feedback is a lovely testament to our staff.

I think your post really highlights the simple things that can improve our patients' experience such as good information and staff who are patient, kind and understanding.

I have responded to another post today that also highlighted the taste of the bowel preparation. I understand that it is not pleasant, but we have found that it does give the best results in terms of preparing the bowel for the procedure. I know that chilling the preparation or adding some fruit cordial (not blackcurrant) can improve the taste.

We are currently reviewing our information booklets and we will make sure that we add in these tips for making the bowel prep easier to take.
