"Moved off the ward"

About: Leicester General Hospital / Trauma and orthopaedics

(as a service user),

Excellent experience except for the last night. Glad I went for the “epidural” knee replacement- would recommend that choice to others.

Staff were excellent except for one who used to come onto the ward in the night shouting to the others (not necessary). Excuse was – “Well, even though it’s the middle of the night- because they do night shifts it’s the time of the day to do them”

On the last night of my stay we were all moved off our ward as something had happened at the LRI and staff from the LGH were needed. I appreciate that probably doesn’t happen very often.

What should change: stop that buzzer going off every 20 mins or so (located top of my bed) all thought the night”! Felt crap next morning as hadn’t had any sleep! Would have discharged myself if I hadn’t been going home anyway
