About: Bromley Healthcare / Podiatry

(as the patient),

I have been attending the Podiatry Service in Bromley for a number of years and just want to say that I have always received good care of my feet.

Due to cut backs and increase of workload I have been advised that I will be discharged from the service as their input is not as needed as it was.

However, I have also been advised that should I require help at any time in the future I can refer myself back or ask my G. P. to refer me again.

Just wanted to say Thank you to the service and for the reassurance I can ask for help again if needed.

Dear Pixie Vi

Thank you for your posting about our podiatry service.

Can I reassure you that there have been no cuts to this important service however we have been seeing increase demand.

I have spoken to the Head of Integrated Care today and she has advised me that the service have been working with our local Clinical Commissioning Group to review our referral criteria as a result of increasing patient referrals particularly for increasingly complex clinical need.

As a result, the clinicians within the service have been reassessing all patients on the caseloads. Those with less podiatric needs and with no additional medical complexities are being discharged. however all are being advised that if their situation changes or their feet start to deteriorate they can be referred back to the service for advice and support.
