(as a carer),

Accompanied a dementia resident of the home where I work, to Heartlands A+E on Wednesday night following a head injury. The staff on duty were absolutely amazing. The Drs, nurses and porter dealt with her with care, patience and so much understanding which can be a rareity in my experience as a lot of hospital staff dont seem to know how to deal with dementia sufferers. One nurse in particular, a pregnant lady called Shabs was absolutely amazing and should be commended for her professionalism and level of care shown to both the patient and myself. She went above and beyond to ensure our comfort and wellbeing. Thank you Shabs and the team on night shift

Thank you so much for your kind comments about your experience in the Emergency Department (ED) at Heartlands Hospital when you accompanied a patient from the care home you work in.

I am thrilled to read that you felt the staff who dealt with your patient and yourself were all caring and professional in the way in which they dealt with you, in particular, Shabs, the nurse who you feel went above and beyond to ensure yours and your resident's comfort and wellbeing.

I will ensure that your lovely feedback is highlighted to the ED Matron, as well as the Clinical Lead Consultant who will be delighted to share your feedback with all of the nursing and clinical team in ED, and in particular to Shabs, the nurse you have mentioned.
