"As a hospital it works well although"

About: Bmi - The Esperance Hospital

It is quite easy to see why most reviews are 5 star because the nursing care - particularly by the permanent staff is excellent.

The problem is much more to do with the fabric, the furnishing and the facilities.

The rooms are sparsley furnished with one wardrobe with some hanging space and 4 hangers and only one shelf.

There is nowhere to put a suitcase other than on the floor.

The soft light above the bed turns off at the door.

There is no guide to TV channels and the TV is so small it is not possible to see the channel from the bed.

The internet is old fashioned - you have to log in every time your device sleeps or shuts down.

My windows look out over a road with some road noise.

The excuse for no double glazing is it is a listed building!

Of course these are relatively minor compared with the patient care but as most 'residents' do not want to come back again I suspect the fabric etc is not a high priority for the operators. If it were a hotel it would be 2/3*
