"It was like being in a nightmare."

About: Sheffield treatment and recovery team / substance misuse

(as the patient),

Doctors giving away some medications should know the risk of serious withdrawal on a patient taking the drug for the first time and should only give certain medications when the patient is free of all opiates. I personally know 100% refuse to take some medications after 48 hours of not using, even after only being on a small dose seriously suffered from a bad experience. It was like being in a nightmare. Some doctors don't seem to know the difference between the drug and should be made aware of the risk. I thought I was going to die!
