"most of the staff were friendly ..."

About: Selly Oak Hospital (Acute)

(as the patient),

What I liked

most of the staff were friendly and helpful

What could be improved

i broke a bone in my foot and was sent to the xray department., which seemed a long way away from the clinic. i was left to get there myself on crutches. was almost crying as i could hardly walk. then had to get back to clinic. almost fell over. it took all my energy. staff walked past me and took no notice. i felt really upset.

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback on your experience at Selly Oak Hospital.

We welcome all feedback and would like to assure you that all comments are taken seriously and acted upon as part of our ongoing commitment to improving patient experience.

We were very concerned to read your comments about the care you received at Selly Oak Hospital. This is certainly not the type of experience we would want anyone to have as a patient under our care. We strive to provide the highest standard of care possible and we are very sorry that we have not achieved this on this occasion.

We urge you to contact us to discuss this further so that we can look into the issues raised in more detail and take action to ensure that future patients have a more positive experience.

You can contact the Patient Advice and Liaison Service by phone 0121 627 8820, by email PALS@uhb.nhs.uk , via the hospital website http://www.uhb.nhs.uk/Patients/Pals/Contact.aspx or in person by dropping in between 10.30-4pm (Mon-Fri) to the PALS office located on the main hospital corridor (please note that the Selly Oak Hospital PALS Office relocates to the new Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham from 21st June).

Thank you again for taking the trouble to post your comments on the NHS Choices website.
