"Podiatry service Notts Health care trust"

About: Adult Specialist Services / Podiatric surgery

(as the patient),

Having been referred by my GP for surgical podiatry assessment, my original appointment [made in July] was postponed pending a new contractor taking over. I received notice in early October of an appointment at the end of October that I cannot make. I have tried repeatedly to phone the health centre to arrange another date only for all 3 lines to be constantly engaged. How else can I get the date changed - short of driving to the health centre myself? I think this is appalling and would be even worse for someone with serious mobility problems.

Please accept my sincere apology for your experience with our service. I appreciate it must be incredibly frustrating. Unfortanately the phone lines have been overwhelmed and we are working to resolve the issue. The service is texting new numbers out to patients. Patients that do not have access to a mobile phone will receive a letter with the updated information. In the meantime you can please contact our patient experience team on 01623 673849 who will be able to facilitate an appointment for you.

Thanks for this.

I eventually got through on the phone yesterday afternoon and rearranged the appointment, but not before I travelled to Wollaton Vale Health Centre to be told that they can't make or rearrange appointments. Surely some element of delegation would be helpful to service users?

Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback, and I am pleased that you were able to contact the service to make an appointment.

Please accept my apologies for the inconvience and frustration this problem has caused. We are working to resolve the issues, but do not hesitate to contact our patient experience team if you have any further concerns.

Due to the new contracting arrangements Wollaton Vale staff are unable to provide administrative support for the podiatry service.
