We all know the NHS is under increasing pressure these days with lack of resources making working life difficult for staff. This can lead to them having to concentrate on the purely functional aspects of their jobs. I have witnessed this first hand in other parts of the NHS.
However we were so impressed with the Totnes staff, I had to give some well deserved positive feedback.
Background:- Whilst on hols 1/6/2016, mum (81) fell up some steps and did 17 stitches worth of damage to her leg. I phoned the Totnes team and was greeted by a cheerful and calm voice suggesting I brought Mum in to be assessed.
The reception was quite busy (Bank Holiday Week), but all the staff were so cheerful and pleasant. It's difficult to put my finger on any specific points, but it was just the way they spoke to mum expressing real care and concern, right down to the comical threats they made to her if she didn't take things easy.
Excellent!
They'll write songs about these people.
