I can not praise highly enough the standard of care in the Stroke Ward (B12). Although my father was a general medical case, not a stroke patient, the treatment, care and compassion given during his stay was exemplary. For his final 3 weeks my mother and I spent 24/7 at the hospital and every single member of the team took care of us as well as him. Everyone from cleaners to Staff Nurses, from porters to Sisters were kind and compassionate and allowed him to die with tenderness and dignity. Two mature student nurses will surely have an amazing nursing future ahead of them - traditional, caring, nurturing - Nursing as it should be. Everyone made sure my elderly mum was fed and watered whenever she was there, and really took an interest in us. The whole ward was spotlessly clean. Food choices were great - and of a very high standard. Everyone should be looking to this ward for an example of NHS excellence. Thank you all.
