"Lack Of Support."

About: Three Towns Resource Centre / General Psychiatry

(as the patient),

Why are others facing the same disrespect and lack of concern? I have read other experiences on these pages and I can relate with the lack of support. At least another three tell of a lack of support, concern and respect. I was only diagnosed after a 3 month stay in hospital last year, Life is difficult enough trying to live with diagnoses, I was told in Hospital that your CPN was there to support you, then I had phone calls that were never returned and now I haven't heard from them in 4 to 5 weeks. Is it the reality that the CPN staff are over worked and seriously under staffed? I don't believe for one minute theyre not in this line of work to help and make a difference. I only ever contacted my CPN if I really needed to, I could go months without even a call, when I really did need them? ? They couldn't even return my calls? ? I would like to believe that this is due to their extremely high work load and that they deal with patients who must be more deserving than me. When I did see the CPN he was a gentleman

I respond initially to most of the posts and ensure they are passed to the appropriate team whether they are compliments, observations or grumbles. It is important to make sure all issues are addressed and I try to encourage that to happen for all the posts as required.
