"Waiting for a death certificate"

My Father -in-law died the early hours of Sunday morning, he had been poorly for some time and died in the nursing home (Aberlard Nursing Home). My husband had been to see him the night before as they were (the staff at the home) expecting him to not get through the night. It is now Tuesday afternoon and we are still chasing after the Doctor for a death cert as we wish to register his death tomorrow. The receptionist could not guarantee that the certificate would even be ready for this! There was no post mortem and the only delay seems to be a Doctor who can not be bothered to get round to it and sign the document.
