"My wife's experience"

About: Aberdeen Royal Infirmary / Emergency Medicine

(as a relative),

My wife was two months pregnant, she could not keep down food and drinks at all. I brought her to A&E. A nurse measured her blood pressure and heart rate and temperature. They said it is not a life-threatening emergency. They sent her away without treatment. One injection would have sorted it out within a minute. She dropped to the floor outside A&E whilst constantly vomiting. Other patients from the waiting area were called forward for assessment, but a pregnant lady was left outside without being treated. I have lost my trust in all of you.

Dear An upset family

Thank you for taking the time to post your story on Care Opinion. I am truly sorry to read of your experience.

We are keen to reflect and learn from patient experiences. Should you wish the Emergency department to look into this further, we would require more information from you.
