I am absolutely appalled by the absolutely despicable running of North Ward 10 by various members of staff (and whoever is in ultimate charge of the named ward) & particularly the wrongful (lack of hygiene) use of the patient toilet by the members of staff working in this section of the ward.
I should also add that when I used the toilet facilities for the first time, I immediately felt the onset of a UTI (urinary tract infection), not to mention the concerning smell coming out of the same toilet facilities.
When I approached members of staff on shift to enquire about how often the toilets are cleaned, I was met with contempt insisting the toilets are cleaned daily, however I cannot help but wonder why there are no cleaning sheets or anything of the like to evidence any cleaning which is allegedly being done daily. The awful smell speaks for itself!
My grandmother has also been complaining of water infection symptoms, I anticipate, for the same reasons as my own.
The attitude of many staff members (save for a lovely Nurse who is an absolute asset to the trust/hospital) has been absolutely unacceptable with patients who are for the most part, extremely sick, entirely bed-bound and unable to get to the toilet without assistance.
I have obviously only been on this ward for less than 18 hours and witnessed all of the above within such a narrow timeframe.
Patients deserve and have the right to demand much better care, and it's crystal clear to me from what I have personally witnessed that the dignity of patients has been stripped from them entirely with having to experience such gross levels of care from persons who should be acting in a professional capacity, in a public sector role, trusted with people's lives (very literally).
Should you require clarification in regards to any of the points raised or to discuss any of these matters, then please do not hesitate to contact me.
I look forward to your earliest reply.
Thank you.
