"Patience, dignity, and genuine care"

While Manchester Royal might not have the best reputation online, I have to give credit where it’s truly due — the staff on Cardiology Ward 3 are exceptional. A huge shoutout to Nurse Grace and her incredible team. Her presence alone keeps the ward calm, steady, and under control. She brings brightness, warmth, and a quiet confidence that makes every patient feel genuinely cared for. When she’s on shift, you can tell — the whole team moves like a well-oiled machine, and you instantly feel like you’re in safe hands.

I’m currently waiting to be transferred to Wythenshawe Hospital for open-heart surgery, and until a bed becomes available, Ward 3 has become my temporary home. And honestly? The care here is so attentive that it almost feels like an all-inclusive resort — just with more wires and monitors. The staff who come around with tea, coffee, and meals throughout the day are always cheerful, and when you’re waiting for major surgery, those small moments of kindness lift the weight off your shoulders, even if just for a little while.

When there’s not much you can do but wait, the team on this ward make you feel calm, supported, and truly looked after. I’ve been here for 10 days now, and I’ve seen firsthand how incredibly hard the staff work and how demanding their jobs can be. Some patients present real challenges, but every single person here is treated with patience, dignity, and genuine care.

Ward 3 deserves far more recognition than it gets.
