(as the patient),

I would like to share how truly amazing the Queen Elizabeth Maternity Staff have been throughout my entire journey — from the pre-natal and post-natal wards to the High-Risk Delivery Room, all the way until I delivered my baby.

I was an inpatient for 10 weeks due to a threatened pre-term labour, and I had to remain on strict bed rest. It was an incredibly challenging and emotional time, but the care I received was nothing short of exceptional. Every single day, I felt genuinely cared for, supported, and treated with kindness.

I want to say a huge thank you to all the staff, midwives, doctors, auxiliaries, domestic staff, and everyone who creates such a warm and compassionate environment.

A special mention to Jackie, Sister at Ward 48, for always going above and beyond for our needs. Your compassion and reassurance meant the world to us.

To the amazing Midwives at Ward 48 —

Emma, Frances, Sharon, Stefanie, Lauren, Stacy, Amy, Raj, Karen, and to those I may have unintentionally forgotten — thank you so much for your kindness, support, and patience during those long weeks. Your care and encouragement brought me so much comfort and strength.

To the Auxiliaries, especially Marie, Adele, Jude, Bookie, Lorraine, and Marta, and all the others — thank you for everything you did for me each day.

To the Domestic Staff, especially Katie and Josephine — thank you for your warmth and kindness.

To the Post-Natal Ward team —

Sharon, Alison Wright, Allison, Karen, Fiona, Lacey, Donna, Hayley, and Nicola, and to everyone else who supported me — thank you for guiding me through the first days after birth with such gentleness and understanding.

To the wonderful team in the High-Risk Delivery Room, Hannah, Jane, Neely, Anna-Marije, Amy, and Iona, and the rest of the team — thank you for taking such exceptional care of us.

To the Doctors, especially Dr. Roslyn, and the rest of the incredible team who ensured my baby was delivered safely — thank you for your expertise, calmness, and dedication during such a critical moment.

To the Neonatal Team, who constantly checked on us and reassured us — thank you for your continuous support, kindness, and for always making sure we felt safe and informed. We had been on your board for a few weeks, and seeing the genuine joy and celebration when you learned that my baby arrived safely at 36 weeks and 4 days meant so much to us.

And most especially, to my midwife during delivery, Rachel — your calm presence, encouragement, and outstanding care during labour is something I will never forget. My heartfelt thanks also to Hannah, whose support and reassurance during delivery made an incredible difference.

Thank you, Queen Elizabeth Maternity, for helping me through one of the most difficult journeys of my life with compassion, professionalism, and genuine warmth. You kept me and my baby safe through every step, and I am forever grateful.

Dear Apple,

Thank you sharing these kind words with us. Reading your feedback means the world to our team. Your journey was long and challenging, and I am glad that we were able to keep you and your baby safe and cared for every step of the way.

It is lovely to hear that you felt supported, reassured, and treated with kindness throughout your time with us. That is exactly what we strive for, and your message reminds us why we do what we do. Every member of our team—from the midwives and doctors to the auxiliaries, domestic staff, and neonatal colleagues—will be touched by your gratitude.

We know how difficult those 10 weeks of bed rest must have been, and we are so glad that our care brought you comfort and strength during that time. Your words about the birth and the safe arrival of your baby at 36 weeks and 4 days are very special.

Thank you for taking the time to acknowledge so many individuals by name. Your appreciation will mean so much to them, and we will make sure your message is shared widely across the team. They will be proud to know the difference they made for you and your family.

On behalf of everyone at Queen Elizabeth Maternity, thank you for trusting us with your care. We are delighted that you and your baby are safe and well, and we wish you both a future filled with health and happiness.

warmest regards,
Gaynor
