"Late arrival of appointment letter"

I am feeling frustrated and annoyed that I have unwittingly become a contributor to the one of those posters about people who didn’t turn up for their appointment.

I have been waiting on my appointment and was delighted to see it through letterbox when I came home from work. It was dated earlier in the month and only arrived today. To my dismay, the appointment had been for that afternoon and I had missed it.

This situation may not be the full fault of the trust but it does leave me wondering about the postal appointment system. An email or phone call might be quickest way of getting appointment info to the patient and allow adequate time to make arrangements for leave from work etc.

Will be fun now trying to get a Dr appointment to refer me again. Surely there is a better system for all involved.
