"Lack of care towards patients"

About: Royal Bournemouth Hospital / Diabetic medicine

(as a service user),

I had been moved onto a 'specialist' diabetic ward in Bournemouth Hospital.

The wards and surrounding areas were dirty and old fashioned and there is office equipment blocking access everywhere.

I was battling a nasty infection and effective treatment and taking my required drugs on-time could be the difference between me losing or keeping most of my foot.

The drugs were late. The staff I saw don't seem to care about my concerns and literally shout to me to shut up and that they will be coming. The staff don't respond to patients' requests for help or the questions about where the drugs are etc. Feels like they are too busy laughing and joking with each other.

Nobody I saw seems to care. Requests from patients, no matter whether serious or not, are dealt with by aggressive shouting and at times screamed replies using language that is inappropriate.

The lack of professionalism and the attitude of the staff I saw doesn't just worry me it scares me.
