"Wait times"

The wait times for Altnagelvin Hospital are beyond appalling. Having had experience of myself and a family member having to use this service quite recently it has been eye opening. What has been the most confusing and alarming thing I have observed was not a shortage of staff or people rushed off their feet, but on the contrary everywhere I looked I could see NHS employees huddled together in groups or even worse on their personal mobile phones. I’m certainly not advocating for staff burnout but how wait times can be justified when there seems to be zero sense of urgency once you are lucky enough to get beyond those double doors is confusing. There were literally dozens of staff just walking about or grouped together which made it just look and feel like they are getting their day in.
