I’m shocked and disgusted at the way my niece was treated by the receptionist at her ENT appointment. She was belittled and spoken down to when she stated that the mobile number on file was her mums.
The receptionist stated that this was not allowed and it would need to be the primary number belonging to the patient. My niece tried twice to explain to this member staff who was adamant it wasn’t allowed.
Their tone and manner were abrupt and not what I’d expect from an NHS employee at all.
As an NHS staff member, if any member of my colleagues displayed this type of attitude it wouldn’t not be taken lightly! Considering the NHS Core Values and Behaviours are of empathy and understanding, the attitude displayed was unacceptable.
Thankfully another staff member was back to discuss her next appointment and what an absolute breath of fresh air.
We would appreciate this matter being dealt with and rectified.
