"Adapted Wet Room"

About: Integrated Community Services Service Delivery Unit / Housing, Adaptations and Specialist Equipment

(as a parent/guardian),

Our Bathroom needed to be adapted into our Wet Room for our son who is a wheel chair user. He uses a Shower Chair.

We applied  for The Disability Facility Grant. Via our O/T Sally.
Our shower cubical had a high threshold to get our son into.
We hoisted our son into his shower chair then lifted our son and shower chair over the threshold to shower him. He weighs nearly 9 stone.
Then lifted our son and shower chair out again.
We are not youngsters!
The Wet Room has transformed our ability to care for son with ease.
We hoist him into his shower chair then wheel him straight into the open Wet Room to shower him with no lifting
Our O/T Sally has been amazing and supported us all the way via the Disability Facility Grant via our council and outside Agency.
The outside Agency did give us a lot of issues.
Our O/T Sally Sorted the Agency with her approval and recommendations as to what needed doing.
We can’t Thank Sally enough for all her help and advice.
