"Care and support while my husband was in hospital"

About: Royal Alexandra Hospital / General Surgery (wards 19, 20, 24, 26 &29)

(as a relative),

My husband recently spent a week in ward 20 at the RAH after an appendectomy. This was a particularly difficult time for both of us as our baby was only one week old when he was admitted. I cannot thank all the staff on ward 20 enough for their kindness and compassion. I was not able to visit often, but staff were always on the other end of the phone and happy to reassure me while I was at home caring for our baby. In particular I’d like to thank nurses Zara and Rose. They went above and beyond to support my husband emotionally during his admission. It means so much to know he was so well looked after. I’m grateful to you all for caring for him so he could come home to me and my son.

Thank you for sharing your experience.
We’re so pleased to hear that your husband received compassionate care during his stay in Ward 20 at the RAH, especially at such a challenging time for your family. It’s wonderful to know that the team’s support and reassurance helped you feel connected while caring for your newborn at home.

Your special thanks to nurses Zara and Rose will be passed on – they will be delighted to know their efforts made such a positive difference. We’re grateful for your kind words and wish you and your family all the very best.
