"The staff were lovely and caring"

About: Queen Margaret Hospital / Endoscopy

(as the patient),

I was extremely nervous and anxious on the day but the staff were lovely and caring.

The person doing the procedure explained everything that would be happening and what could go wrong as this is necessary.

Thankfully it all went well . I had sedation and didn't feel a thing . Everything that happened during the procedure was explained in detail.

I am so lucky that no cancer showed up , 3 polyps were removed and diverticular disease was discovered . It was so worth having it done

Dear Dont be scared

Thank you for your very kind post regarding your visit to the Regional Endoscopy Unit here at Queen Margaret. Reading between the lines it sounds as though you were very proactive and participated in our Bowel Screening Programme. The programme is there to pick up on not only early detection of cancer, but also to give you peace of mind when you get the all clear.

I was delighted to read how well the team looked after you throughout your journey, and their reassurance made this journey so much less scary for you.

I will pass your very kind comments on to the team, we do try to redeem ourselves after the not so pleasant bowel preparation to the lovely tea and toast before discharge

Hope you have recovered well

Kindest regards

Ann Walker SCN
