"Out of hours care"

About: East Lothian Community Hospital / GP Out of Hours Service (Lothian Unscheduled Care Service) Western General Hospital / Respiratory Medicine

(as the patient),

I was referred to East Lothian Community Hospital Out of Hours by NHS24 due to shortness of breath from what I suspected has an ongoing chest infection.

The nurse I saw was called Kim and she was lovely. She referred me to Western General for a suspected clot on my lung and I am very lucky she did. She was very understanding and explained everything carefully and clearly to myself & my husband. Excellent service as always at this hospital

Western General staff took excellent care of me while I stayed there and have me on the right course of treatment for what was a completely unexpected diagnosis. They were very empathetic and understanding and I was seen to promptly and all tests scans etc were done in a very quick and efficient manner.

It is great to get positive feedback about the care we deliver and that the staff have provided this in a manner that impressed you so.

We will pass on your comments, which will be appreciated by Kim.
