"I couldn’t have been treated better"

About: Omagh Primary Care Complex / Endoscopy Unit

(as the patient),

I had day procedure of colonoscopy to check for polyps . Nurse Rachel admitted me and asked questions and recorded all on computer She was very pleasant and capable and showed me to the changing room .

Mr Dickey then arrived to take me for more questions and led me to theatre after I had agreed to take gas and oxygen. The colonoscopy proceeded and I watched it on the screen. Mr Dickey was very professional and compassionate. He gave me good news that only one wee polyp found for biopsy.

The nurses Catherine and Michaela talked to me to distract from any pain and were very good at it. They regularly checked I was accessing the gas and air and I was much obliged for their assistance.

When the procedure ended I was wheeled out to recovery and had Nurses Gemma and Kirsty look after me with tea, toast and jugs of water to get my blood pressure back on the right numbers. I found Kirsty was very capable and dedicated to getting me sorted for driving home with the right obs.

I thank them all and confirm that I couldn’t have been treated better. But I hope not to avail of their services for at least another 3 years !
