"I call that going the extra mile"

About: Vale of Leven General Hospital / Endoscopy

(as the patient),

I have multiple myeloma and was finally diagnosed at the beginning of 2016 having been back and forward to the doctors. I was admitted to hospital unable to walk. After various scans, tests and biopsy the result showed MM. Over the years I have had various treatments, a pin in my right leg, radiotherapy treatments.

Recently my Consultant was concerned about loss of blood and wanted to find out where I was losing it from and a Colonoscopy was arranged.

Unfortunately it was not successful and a Colonography was arranged. The way I was treated by the endoscopy department was first class. All the staff could not have been nicer. The staff work as a team and it was a pleasure to experience such team work.

The result of the Colonography has highlighted  what may be a polyp and a further Colonoscopy is to be arranged. I was advised of this result by telephone in advance of receiving a letter so that it wouldn’t be a such a shock as it would be receiving a letter without advance warning.

A further Colonoscopy is being arranged to see the polyp can be removed at that  time.  It was very considerate of the member of staff to  call me and I really appreciated her doing so.

I call that going the extra mile.

Good afternoon doradoqh63,

Thank you for such a positive feedback.

So kind of you to take the time to respond, and glad further Colonoscopy will be organised.

I will pass on your lovely comments to all the staff.

Hope you have a nice day.

Marie
