"My Granddaughter with Asthma and quickly triaged"

About: Emergency Department / E-Triage

(as a relative),

I became very worried when my Grandaughter was having difficulty breathing and despite her using her inhalers in the way she has been told to in these circumstances, she was getting worse and also finding it painful when trying to breathe in, this was causing her to become very distressed. I then called NHS24 and we were told to head over to the hospital.

I have to say I was very apprehensive about what would happen when we got there due to a lot of various stories of patients and relatives not happy about the waiting times , the care received ect.

That was not what I have to say, the waiting room was busy,my granddaughter was seen in triage in around 15 minutes and a lovely nurse took all the stats and they where all up and down so she was put threw straight away as she does have a history of hospital admissions for Asthma attacks and I would just like to thank all the staff an Drs an nurses who looked after my Grandaughter for the kindness and care givin to her, and a special thank you to Mary and Robert for their attentive way in helping both of us it was greatly appreciated.

Dear Cassiopeiayx76,

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience with us. I can only imagine how worrying it must have been to see your granddaughter struggling to breathe, and I’m glad you reached out for help promptly.

It’s wonderful to hear that our team was able to provide the care and reassurance you both needed during such a stressful time. I will make sure your kind words are passed on to Mary and Robert, as well as the rest of the team—they will be delighted to know their efforts made a difference.

Thank you again for your thoughtful message. We truly appreciate your feedback.

Best wishes,

Julie.
