"Poor hand hygiene"

About: Castle Circus Health Centre / Torbay Sexual Health

(as a service user),

Excellent service, very efficient and helpful. Organised and supportive.

The only observation, staff member wearing gloves and touching their face/ nose. No hand washing or gelling. Type type of specimens taken, is it wise to wipe face with gloves in situ. They may know they are clean, does the client, other members of staff, CWC, GMC/NMC officials.

Did not observe hands being washed post blood taking. Normally other visits I have seen staff carry out hand hygiene.
