Having attended a&e during the week and the doctors, I was sent by the doctor to the medical assessment unit today.
From the minute that the nurse came for me in a&e, I knew I was in safe hands. I was seen by nurse Kay who was lovely, caring and understanding.
After some blood tests I met with consultant Ms Mulholland, the most caring doctor I have ever met who said tell me what’s been happening, she listened carefully and explained the next actions. I went round to xray, where they were raving about the new consultant and what a breath of fresh air she is. I told her this when she took me through to explain the results. I cannot thank you enough for being so clear at explaining everything, being so caring, understanding and helpful.
All the staff in this department are lovely, although I didn’t see or talk to them all, due to the time I was there I witnessed the most caring hospital department I have ever seen. A special mention goes to a nurse Ashleigh, keeping spirits high in the department, but also going above and beyond helping with an elderly patient in the waiting room. I saw her dealing with a few patients in the waiting room and she was just brilliant.
Keep up the great work in this department (feel free to to spread your sparkle in the rest of the hospital too)
And thank you so much to all of you for your care today.
