I unfortunately injured my ring finger badly when cutting an avocado so I was encouraged by a friend, who is a nurse, to go into hospital (Craigavon Area Hospital) to get it seen to. I have a huge phobia of all things hospital/medical related so I was dreading even entering the building. Thankfully, I was met with very kind and helpful staff the whole way through the process- from my first phone call to book an appointment, to the kind nurse/doctors who looked after me.
I want to give a huge shout out to the nurse/doctor (apologies I never clarified which) named Connor (in the minor injury department) who carried out most of the procedures on my hand. He was incredibly kind, warm and diligent; I instantly felt like I was in good hands to care for my laceration to my finger. He explained everything that I needed to know really well and didn’t make me feel silly for asking whatever questions I needed to ask.
A lot of folk like me, who suffer from mental health issues like anxiety and depression (especially those with health anxiety) dread the thought of taking one step into a hospital setting, so I just want to say thank you to Connor for making the experience such a positive one in what was quite a traumatic moment in my life. I am beyond grateful for what you did! I hope and pray that this review lifts you up and reminds you that what you are doing is incredible and so valued! Thank you.
