"Excellent staff but high temperatures"

About: Aberdeen Royal Infirmary / General Surgery

(as a relative),

Firstly I want to say that the care, support and attention from the medical teams and nursing team right through to auxiliaries has been second to none and the care received we will forever be grateful for.

Although there is apparently windows being fitted we felt that the temperatures on the ward for staff and patients alike was horrendous. People are recovering from significant surgeries and illness and have temperatures amongst other things and whilst there are fans provided it still made for a very uncomfortable hospital stay. Could iced water be considered and better quality fans? I feel that given the high temperature within the ward consideration should be given to newer better quality fans with additional cooling function or at the very least ice to be offered as patients are in a constantly warm environment with no air. Our family member found it very difficult being hot due to illness and also sweating due to the heat whilst in their bed.

I want to reiterate the staff are amazing and could not do anymore however these issues appear to be outwith their control.
