"Outstanding Person Centred Care"

I have had  the humbling experience of being a family member who witnessed end of life care being provided to my mother within the Medical Assessment Unit of Monklands Hospital. Initially, the prognosis was that her passing would be imminent. However, that stretched to 4 days. A Medical Assessment Unit is extremely busy and it was clear the staff were balancing many challenges and complexities. However, you would never have known it as they kept our mother, myself, my sisters and multiple visiting extended family within a cocoon of comfort. Every member of staff , porters, domestics,CSW’s nurses and medical team were a credit to themselves. Their compassion and dignified care of our mother ( and of us) was greatly appreciated and we cannot thank you enough.
