I gave birth to my son in May and having had time to reflect more fully on my experience, I wanted to express my gratitude to the staff in triage, the labour ward, theatre and in the recovery ward. Everyone we came across was kind, compassionate and it was clear how highly skilled each and every person was in their field.
I had never been in hospital as a patient before so found the birth daunting beforehand, but I felt secure and reassured throughout despite ending my labour in an emergency section, which was far from what I had expected!
Special mention to Rachael who was one of my midwives on labour ward, and to Lorna whose support was so appreciated overnight after my son was born.
