"So pleased with the excellent care we received"

About: Dumfries & Galloway Royal Infirmary / Out of Hours NHS 24 / NHS 24 (111 service)

(as a parent/guardian),

On  holiday in Stranraer my daughter unfortunately picked up an ear infection. I went through NHS 24 and was passed over to the doctor at Galloway Hospital. Unfortunately I cannot recall his name but he was brilliant. So friendly and was so keen to help us. I picked up antibiotics at the hospital and he was there waiting for me to arrive. Assured me that I could phone back if I had any issues. So pleased with the excellent care we received. Thank you.

Good morning venuskq97.

Thank you very much for taking the time to share your feedback. I am please to hear you had a very positive experience from our doctor working in Out of Hours, based at Galloway Community Hospital and went above and beyond to make sure your daughter was well cared for. It is wonderful to hear how reassuring and supportive he was during a stressful time.

I will ensure the GP receives a copy of your feedback too.

Thank you once again.

Dear venuskq97,

Thank you for sharing your story on Care Opinion. I reply on behalf of NHS 24.

I am sorry to learn you had cause to contact the 111 service due to your daughter’s ear infection. This sounds very painful and I hope she is now doing much better after commencing antibiotics.

It is great to hear that your daughter was assessed by NHS 24 and referred to local services for further treatment, I am delighted that you had such a positive patient journey.

If you have any feedback specifically related to your call to the 111 service, please do not hesitate to get in touch with me at patient.experience@nhs24.scot.nhs.uk, including your Care Opinion username, and I would be pleased to review this for you.

Thank you again for sharing your story.

Best wishes,

Stephanie
