"The nurses in the department were excellent"

About: Queen Margaret Hospital / Ophthalmology

(as the patient),

First visit anywhere in a long time away from my comfort zone. Had to come to an eye clinic on my own and have really bad anxiety just now. There was a lovely nurse called Lorraine in this clinic and she was amazing, she took me into a side room, calmed me down talking to me and then let me sit in there until the doctor was able to see me. Then another nurse took me back to the main entrance to get my lift home.

Everyone is quick to judge things and complain but there is never enough praise for people who are doing great jobs. I would love this lady to know that she made my visit to the eye clinic so much easier and I am not as anxious knowing I am going to be a visitor again and feel safe enough that the nurses in that department were excellent.

Dear microscopiumnw55,

Thank you so much for sharing your experience with us. We understand how challenging it can be to step out of your comfort zone especially when you have anxiety.

It’s wonderful to hear that Lorraine was able to make such a difference for you. Lorraine will be so pleased to know that her kindness and care helped ease your worries. Creating a safe and compassionate environment is incredibly important to us, and your words are a reminder of the impact that genuine care can have.

We’re so glad you now feel more confident about future visits, and we look forward to seeing you again in the clinic. Thank you again for your thoughtful feedback.

Best wishes

Stacey
