"Life saving service"

About: Conquest Hospital

Following a chest infection just after Christmas I awoke on 6th January at around 8am, was violently sick and then lapsed into unconsciousness. My partner called the Ambulance Service and they arrived after only five minutes and began to give me a battery of tests. After 20 minutes of this, I was transferred to the ambulance

(I was still unconscious) and came to briefly when we arrived at the Conquest. The next few hours were a bit of a blur, but I understand that I had several tests, an XRay and a CT scan. The doctor then assessed me and prescribed the appropriate medication.

I strongly believe that the prompt actions of the ambulance crew and the A&E doctor may well have saved my life. Thanks to all concerned.

Dear Sue,

Thank you so much for taking the time to post such lovely comments about your recent experience of care from the ambulance service and the Emergency Department (ED) at Conquest Hospital; it must have been an extremely worrying time for you and your partner, and so we are delighted to read that the care and treatment you received resulting in you in making a recovery.

We very much hope you are back to good health, and that the medication you have been prescribed is helping. The Trust strives to provide all patients with a high standard of care, so it is reassuring for us to read this was your experience. We will ensure your kind words are shared with the leadership team for the ED, as they will be pleased to hear you are well. In terms of sharing feedback with the ambulance service, who are a separate organisation to us, you may want to contact them directly at this link: www.secamb.nhs.uk/contact-us/thanking-our-staff/

We wish you all the very best Sue; keep well and stay safe.
