I'd been waiting on my knee arthroscopy for sometime after been diagnosed with a right knee meniscus tear. Arrived as requested for 7.30 and departed mid afternoon. Friendly greeting by the receptionist.
From the moment I arrived at reception, I received the best possible care, provided by all staff.
After some forms to be completed, I met again my consultant, Mr Al Mouazzen. He was lovely to deal with, and provided a full outline of my procedure. Then Dr Johnstone, who clearly took me through the anaesthetic process. We agreed on a spinal block, and wow, did it work!
Next phase was into the area next to the operating theatre. Where again I was carefully looked after. 2 staff members with Dr Johnstone but due to my sedated state, I forget your names. You really made me feel at ease, thank you.
Op next and this went well, conscious throughout and no pain.
Next stop, recovery where again, Laura looked after me so well, thanks.
Back to the ward, where the anaesthetic was given time to ease off. Tea and toast was nice too. Special mention to Nurse Hannah. You were amazing, looked after me so well.
Calls made to my son and daughter in law who collected me.
Overall I am so pleased with my procedure today and moving on to recover at home. The professionals above are to be lauded for their care of me. You are all an asset to the NHS
