"To give thanks 🙏"

About: Downe Hospital / Urgent Care Centre Mental Health Assessment Centre / Downpatrick Northern Ireland Ambulance Service / Emergency ambulance response South Eastern Health & Social Care Trust

(as a service user),

My family was in severe difficulty due to marital problems. Due to stress and grief as a mother to two beautiful girls my mental health began to deteriorate over a period of time. This was prior to the pandemic but continued on/off throughout, yet the services never let us down despite their increased pressure and workload.

I cannot praise the NHS, PSNI, Social Services and our local school enough for their help and support. They have been truly amazing.

Dr McCaffrey (Psychiatrist Downpatrick now retired)

Dr Pollock (Clinical Psychologist Downpatrick)

Susan (Senior Social Worker Newcastle)

Roisin (Social Worker NC)

St Mary’s Primary School Newcastle (Denise, Declan, Jenni and all of the teachers.)

Ambulance Service (Paul and partner Karen).

I would not be here to tell the tale without you all and my children would be without a mother. I cannot praise and thank you all enough! I am safe, healthy and well, as is my estranged husband and two daughters. Thank you for your patience, kindness, dedication and professionalism. We shall be forever in your debt.

Susan is amazing, as is all of her team. I just don’t know how they do it!

Likewise all of you who contributed to our safety and recovery as a family despite the severe challenging conditions you work under and face everyday.

Thank you so much 🙏

Dear stonemm48

My name is Conor Campbell. My position is Senior Manager, Assurance and Improvement with a leading role in improving the service user experience - which includes responding to any person who tells their story through Care Opinion in order to help the organisation learn and improve.

Thank you for sharing the story of your and your family’s experience through a challenging time in the care of a range of services across South Eastern HSC Trust, NIAS, PSNI and St. Mary’s Primary School.

It is great to learn that your quality of care and experience has been of the standard that we aspire to.

It is so important to be looked after with expertise and compassion and our Trust Services and wider services have shown themselves to be a solid example of putting this into practice to good effect for you and your family.

Your positive feedback is now being shared to the teams involved to let them know that their contributions have been effective and appreciated and to motivate ongoing high levels of safe, effective and compassionate care.

I wish only the best for you and your family going forward.

Best wishes

Conor
